Yes, but if you don't know who to avoid, how can you avoid them? -->

Builder is in a small shop in PA. If it were mine I would have sent it a site sponsor. The vibration was nothing like that of a Harley, it was more like the fast sharp vibration. Almost like cell phone vibration but a thousand time amplified.

Who is this "builder"?

Yup, his pride was out of alignment. I missed a punch mark once. It chugged like a Harley. My pride was hurt. lol

According to the builder, he checked both sides of the motor (no case splitting), all timing marks were already lined up, put everything back together and miraculously the vibration stopped. He obviously doesnt wanna own up to his mistake and say what the issue was.....jerk

I meant bad main bearing  pocket had to have inserts put in to fix my problem . Thats what was causing my vibration

I went threw this on my lt250. My problem was crank journals were bad let the crank slide  side to side I would check what the other guys have said. But if that all good check the journals.

I hope the builder knows to look for that.

The crank is not balanced; IE the crank webs are misaligned or have moved.

Update:

Flywheel is fine and timing marks are all lined up. The builder is now going to split the cases to make sure all seals and bearings are okay.
Any thoughts on what else it could be?

The builder of this motor seems to think the flywheel is the cause........we will know soon.

The Suzuki LT500R motor is actually pretty damn smooth and should not be vibrating that bad.

I would pull the clutch cover and check the timing marks (all three) to insure the counter balancer can do its job. I am betting this is the issue.

That would be my guess too. Might wanna have that looked at. It might be a little hard on bearings. The motors too.

Make sure your balancer in timed to the crankshaft correctly.

My cousin just finished a frame up rebuild, we went riding for the weekend and I had the honor of piloting his 500 for a day (boy, do I wish I hadnt). The bike vibrates so badly I thought my eyeballs were loosing up and were going to fall out of my head, I literally couldnt see straight. After half a day on that thing my hands hurt and felt like a million needles were piercing my palms. The bike is literally falling apart from the shaking. Any idea where he should check first? I'm too new to LT's and dont know where to start. My simple mind came to the conclusion that something is out of balance (duh).
Here are a couple of photos of the bike, they prob wont help to answer the question but they are fun to look at.
