You can go more or less on the turns, depending on porting and pipe combos.
The trick is to close it right at the time your powerband takes over, so it'll help the low end run better and not alter the tuning once it gets on the pipe.
Easier said than done, but most guys run it anywhere from 1 turn to 1 3/4 turn with their setups.
Whatever you do, don't turn it more than 2 1/2 turns, because it can hurt the spring in there.

OK. Here is a picture.

First, remove 5s, 4, 2, and 3. Then, reinstall 2 and 3 while aligning 2's slot with the end of 6, WITHOUT turning it. Install 4 and 5s, but don't tighten 5s. Turn 2 1 turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE and tighten 5s. You are now done.

Ok Still no answer on the head problem...On to the next thing..Adjusting the exhaust valve..Just how do I do it ..I doesn't say in my Clymer book...New to the exhaust valve thing ..I just want to make sure it's right...My problem is this It doesn't have clean power on the low end just kind of blubbers...then even at WOT it seems to be off...Could be the pilot jet pluged or needle in the wrong slot....I have had this Quad since Monday..Rode twice..Trying to get an Idea of what to do...Going to get some more seat time this weekend...any advice would be great
