Your right Tex i had stock stator.I say the led would be brigther. All i know the light i got works good.

Did you have a stock stator or did you have the 130W Ricky Stator coils?
If you had a stock system, you were overloading it by at least 25W (stock is 85W or so, you were trying to pull 110W or more).
I'll bet a single 16W LED light would make that fog light look puny...

I couldnt get 2 lights that were 12 volt 55 watts to to run at the same time. Not enough power out of my stator. I put a small fog light that i got at walmart. It lights around 20 feet wide and around 30 to 40 feet out. Blows the stock light away. Also mounted it in one of the stock light bolt hole on handle bars clamp or stem which ever one you want to call it.

For woods riding I'd recommend flood pattern, you won't be able to see far enough to make use of a spot beam.
It'll also help you to see in a wider periphery when you're turning and the light is bolted to the frame.
Spot beams give you tunnel vision (which is fine for roads and long stretches of high speed driving).
With that in mind, if you're turning to one side you might not notice the tree just outside of the spot pattern until it's too late to change course.
Stock regulator is the only thing you need, so long as it keeps the voltage around 12V.
Doesn't matter what type of lights you want to run.
Make sure it maintains 12V on the hot wire going to the lights and you'll be fine.

No way in hell the stock LT light is going on it. They look SO dumb IMHO.
So whats better in your opinion for woods night riding spot or flood or should I do both like you said ?
Also Im gonna need a new voltage reg. can you take stock LT one and use for banshee headlights or these mini LED's or do you need to get the one specifically for them?
If you cant already tell I'm CLUELESS with this kind of stuff. [|]

Stock LT light, when you turn, you can see where your going.

There is no use in converting banshee headlights to LED because the reflector doesn't match the light source.
Besides that, any LED kit meaningful enough to consider in the project is going to wind up costing just as much as buying an LED light outright, or you're going to wind up with a dim light and a crappy pattern.
It's akin to shooting yourself in the foot.
In the world of lighting, input power supply is only a concern if there isn't enough, or if the voltage exceeds the light's specifications.
You can wire up a 5W light to a thousand truck batteries capable of producing megawatts of power, but the light will still only draw 5W.
So long as your voltage regulator is operating properly, you won't have a thing to worry about with extra power.
ChrisG also sells some smaller lights that are still much more powerful than banshee lights.
They're rated at 1280 lumens, about like a single car headlight, draws only 16W, and costs $50.
Banshee lights don't come close to car headlights, and you can mount them on your shocks just the same.
They come in spot and flood, they've already been tested by Dezsled and work great.
If you wanted to get two, you could buy one in spot and another flood, or two spots, or two floods.

If it's just for looks and a few night rides, go with some cheap banshee lights or halogen bullet lights and forget about LED's.
Banshees and LT's have been riding at night with only stock lights as illumination for 25 years now, no reason why they won't work for your application.

I was gonna ask that question about putting LED's in banshee headlights. I just love the look of those lights for some reason?? And there is no way I can spend $160 x2 for headlights because they wouldn't be worth it to me, I will only occasionally night ride so I'm gonna get the banshee headlights cheaper than I can get one of those lol.
2 new questions now.
I need a new stator anyways and there is no such thing as to much power right? I am gonna go with banshee lights because the price of the others isn't worth it to me, and wanna spend the extra $15 and get the really good stator, but I wont like fry stock banshee headlights correct?
Also do you know about maybe converting banshee headlights to LED ??

1. Don't buy the Rick's Stator unless you like throwing money away.
Buy Ricky Stator products, they have 130W lighting coils.
You can get just the 130W coils for $40 if your stator is in good shape:

2. Forget the Banshee lights, they won't be much better than stock anyway.
Buy a pair of LED lights from ChrisG at OKLedlightbars, they'll provide a lot more light for the same watts.
You can buy the spot or flood version of the 6 LED CREE light to mount on your shocks if that's where you want them:

They pull 60W each, and provide roughly 5x the lumens of a single halogen car beam headlight (auto lights are limited to 1,200 lumens).
Combined, you're looking at getting the same light output as 5 cars pointing their headlights at the same place.
Is that enough light for you? ;D
Even a single light will be far more than what a pair of banshee lights could possibly hope to make, and you could even run it with the stock lighting coils.
No additional work is necessary to make them work, just wire them up and go!
Granted, they're more expensive than banshee lights, but for dollar to lumen returns the LED is WAY cheaper than halogen.
If I still have convinced you of the LED's awesomeness, I believe the stock banshee lighting coil output is 85W, just like the LT...so whatever headlights will work on a stock banshee will work on a stock LT.

So Im gonna put banshee head lights off my shock mounts. I also need a new magneto anyways.
Questions are, would the stock LT magneto run the stock banshee headlights like they should be ?
If not what are my options? Either get new magneto and have it rewired? Also what money range will be talking? Its $110 for new magneto + services.
