The modified OEM is the way to go over the PWK, and it almost works as good as the VM44 but when you get a big pipe and big porting the 44 moves a little more air if your motor is is set up to handle it.

Talking with Jerry Hall, he recommends the mikuni 38 flat slide (oem carb) over the keihin 39pwk. So much so I'm sending him one to modify.
But the 39pwk I'm running now performs really well, so it will be interesting how performance can be improved..

I think with my oem mikuni anything wrong.
I would like to buy me a pwk 39 or better mikuni tm 38 new?
-
I think a 44 might be a little too big for your set up especially with a PT pipe.
Talk to JH but my guess would be a modified stocker to a 41-41.5 would be just about pushing he limit of where you'd want to go and still have a good power curve.

call Jerry Hall, he is the man for the vm44, he has mine now for a few of his mods to be done.

I want to build me a 44 mikuni vm on my zilla.
setup of the zilla: pt pipe, bore 87.5, No porting,
v3reeds, there are problems?
how am I supposed to jet?
or is a keihin 39 pwk the better off? Frank
