good deal tony.. now next question will be do i cut the ears off. lol
-
nope... under $600... I already had a new hood so just got front and rear... +k2
-
Man I bet that was fast $1K
(Y) good choice!
-
Alright... well i just bit the bullet and ordered brand new OEM's through my dealer instead of trying to save $175 and having to do all of that work to fit them!!
-
the maier hood sucks, it has different mounting tabs that go from the side, oem is deff better.
if they made a one peice front fender it might be better, i just dont like the look of how they over lap.
-
It would be cool if someone who buys maier plastic could post some pics and the steps they took to fix the problem areas. Then members could see what they are getting themselves into and see if its worth it to them to tackle before they buy.
-
Well I think I'm gonna go yellow... I just like the factory-ish look... just wanted to be sure that OEM hood fit well and wanted an idea of the time/frustration I was going to be getting myself into cutting/fitting/drilling.....
-
Yellow plastic SUCKS............ They should have been black from the factory, and they help hide the fit issue. White sucks also, gets stained and gritty rub marks that stickout.
-
Those were for a 660 raptor, but contact Alkyzilla he might have a sweet set for sale iirc.
-
I don't think you can hijack your own thread... _^_
-
DZ nice ride... Im gonna jack my own thread here... what IMS pegs are those off? Hi^
-
Here's the maier rear with oem front fenders. It was acceptable other than the slight color diff. That was before twinzilla sold me some decent oem stuff (Y)

maier fit is bad seam in front and front to rear seam is bad. oem if you can afford it.
-
It seems to be the fit.... lots of trimming and re-drilling to get things to line up...others in the past have posted it can be a lot of work to try to get it right.... just wanted to hear some more recent feedback...
-
What exactly are the issues with the maier. when you say bad is it color. finish fit? Do holes line up or do you have to drill all your own?
-
Still have new Maier set in the bags...
-
yes oem hood fits well, i would just run the oe ones, why waste 500 bucks on plastic to trash.
when your oe ones start to crack start trimming them back some, and by then you might have enough cash saved up for a new set of oe ones.
well thats what i would do.
-
So those of you that have them, exactly how BAD are they? I was putting on my OEM's tonight for the first time, and I'm just worried they are going to get **** very easy being that they are 25 yrs. old and the nature of the trails we ride....
So I'm thinking about getting a set of maiers to ride w/ and putting my OEM's on a shelf....
Also, Does the OEM hood fit the Maier plastics well?
