Specbolt has specialized hardware that is just as good or better than OEM.
They're cheaper, brand new, and probably easier to acquire than OEM.
They're definitely willing to work with you to make sure you get all the hardware you need in a kit, and every customer that adds to the list just means that their bolt kits are that much more complete with fewer extras or missing bolts.
One other thing...
Polished steel isn't resistant to corrosion, so the only way you're going to get durable, shiny hardware is to have them chromed.
Make sure they don't chrome the threads though, or you'll have similar galling issues that SS hardware has.
I guess you could clear coat the polished hardware, but the finish wouldn't last long under the torque of a wrench.

Don't get stainless engine bolts, they gall and break easy. Fastenal might be able to get the coated allen head bolts your looking for, either zinc plated or black oxide.
Yes!
Your engine was designed to use steel bolts and screws. If the engine was designed to use stainless fasteners, every bolt would need to be upsized a millimeter or 2 to obtain the same strength as the stock steel bolts and screws. Stainless steel fasteners should be part of the original design, not an after thought. Stainless steel screws and bolts are definitely not an upgrade.
Stainless steel just designates that the material will not easily rust. Many different materials can be blended with steel to make it classified as stainless. Chromium and nickel in various proportions are the two most common elements added to steel to make it become classified as stainless steel.
All of the stainless steel bolt kits being sold online that customers have sent us have been pure Chinese junk. Many of them break before reaching the torque spec. or the threads strip or gall.

I bought specbolt's 250 pc set. Are you wanting to get hardware for your engine that has Allen heads or just new shiny hardware? The spec bolt kit I bought has a lot but whatever they don't include you can email them and let them know what you need and they'll get it to you at a good price.
