Just ordered a 9" k&n go big or go home right?!! When it gets in ill start fabrication of my air box. I'm probably going to make more than one out of diamond plate aluminum if anyone is interested once I get it finished.

porting the head mod and a new bore would be around 750$ Then pipe and carb would be around another 400 to 500$ depends if you want new ones. Im sure their is cheaper builder then what i listed. But that is what im about to pay for my work im having done to my 88 cylinder.

I dont think they make a coolhead for the 86 all you need to do is have the head mod done some porting good carb good filter and pipe.

What filter would you recommend for a stock 86'? I was thinking about sending my engine off to get some mods done, such as water pump assy. replaced possibly big bore and cool heads, port too. If I have these mods done should I be using a bigger filter than stock?

I like the AEM brute force filters, flow better, filter better, cost less. Every hi performance vehicle I own Is slowly being switched, including the race cars and quad racers.

Yeah Dez I've looked high and low and this site these are on has tons of k&n filters all at great prices. I think there's like 3240 different filters and accessories for k&n alone. They also have other brands aem and spectre to name a couple. There's also smaller sizes for guys running the stock air box with sblt500's adapter just gotta do your own digging for those. I'm looking to fab my own custom air box that removes quickly to leave the filter still rigidly mounted so thinking of making it to fit an 8".
