Anyone have any new info? Stock lt250 plastic is impossible to find and Maier plastics just don't fit right.

The LTR has a problem with clearance.
Specifically, the carb and rear shock.
Of course, with enough time and money, you can make it work.
The pipe will have to be custom built as well.
It's just a lot more work than most guys are willing to do for what you get in return.

I think it took Q a lot of time, skill, experience, money, and mistakes to get zelda done. Not many of us have these.
I may be wrong but I think the 250 500 hybid pipe is the only one produced. All others have to be custom one offs.

How is it so difficult to put a 2 stroke motor on a 400 or 450 chassis? Q did it with Zelda I mean what do you need to do other than frame mods and fab work to get the motor to mount and pipe to mount.

A buddy of mine on another forum had put DVX400 plastics on his 85. The DVX, KFX and LTZ all have the same mounting spots and I've seen LTR plastics on LTZ's sooooo by assumption it should be feasible to put the LTR plastics on an LT

.it just got me wondering at what point does it stop being an LT?
When it stops burning oil....

It's kinda funny if you combine all of the different ideas of updating the old LT's.
Between updating the front and rear suspension to a newer style, bolting on as much new stuff that'll convert over to our frames (headlights, taillights, pegs, etc. etc.), adding plastics, bumpers, wheels, and all the other tidbits...you're basically left with virtually nothing except for the engine that's an original LT part.
Some guys even talk about dropping a 4-stroke into an LT frame.
Seems like a guy would be better off with money ahead just converting an LTR into a 2-stroke, but everything that I've read about it concludes with "it's not feasible".
Maybe one of the newer KTM 2-strokes that are designed around the same frame that their 4-stroke engine is?

Nothing against your idea, I think it would be sweet to have LTR plastics on a 250...it just got me wondering at what point does it stop being an LT?

i will lay it out many times before i cut it. my frame is bare as of now full restore of the 85 ... just looking for a real nasty look because the engine isn't much. i would love a nice 90's rm engine and will be looking but i love the lt250r's so just trying to see how much i can customize it

I can say this, Cutting to little is way better then cutting to much.

I've never seen it but I'd love to see you try. If you do, take pics and show us how you did it. If you have trouble, take pics and show us, we may have suggestions.
