Ground wire is black with a white stripe and is USUALLY grounded to the frame at the ignition coil.

Where is the ground wire or contact--I have a zilla being powder coated and I heard mention to make sure you have good ground--could someone please explain this.  Is there an actual ground wire if so where?

check ground and wires, you may have a cut wire or not a good ground contact.

its a stock carb. Not sure on the jet sizes. But there stock. Also I think I know what the problem is now. I think it might be my air screw Or there's air in my gas line. Ill check that soon. How many turns does my air screw get would you know by any chance?

gonna need some your carb specs.  Pilot jet size, carb size, air filter type, airbox lid?, porting, pipe, Thumb screw setting, air screw setting, elevation.  For starters.

It has all 3. And it did sit for about a week at the most cause its been raining for a week straight. Also didn't mention I took the headlight off cause it was annoying and the wires that Went to the headlight I taped off. Could that effect it any? And I also took the carb apart and cleaned it.

Well you need spark, fuel, and compression to make an engine run. Sounds like you have one. Did you check for spark? Has the bike been sitting for any amount of time?

My 89 250 won't start. Everything was on and I kicked about 8 times and it fired up for about half a secound then died. After that nothing at all. Has compression
