Title: Re: How hard to rebuild calipers and master cylinders?

When I rebuilt the rear caliper on my trx250r I had good luck using McKays assembly lube. Helped get the pistons past the seals without damage.

I cheated and had my calipers bead blasted... cleaned them up real good!!  I have a lot of nice caliper parts if u need any... I would buy new rubber seals though... but i have good pistons, and freshly zinc plated banjo bolts, bleeder screws that look brand new if you need stuff... but no.. as he said not very difficult... I thought the hardest part was getting outer seal in after the piston....

No its not hard, can be difficult removing the pistons. I use compressed air but be careful of your fingers, friends or anything else they can fly across the shop...just wrap a towel around it . You will need snap ring pliers and basic tools. Most manuals call for silicone grease upon re-assembly. The master cylinder is really easy, the caliper will take a little time. Make sure to clean the grooves in the caliper very well, your new seals will not fit.  Use brake clean not carb cleaner. Have fun use and  the manual.

Is it difficult to rebuild the brake calipers, and master cylinders.    Any special tools needed? or tips to make it go smoother.

Im trying to find which box my service manual got put into during the move.
