Title: Re: MOTOR MOUNT TO FRAME ISSUE
Post by: ken500r on March 16, 2013, 12:53:34 pm
Motor mount issue fixed.  When I put the motor in last week the bike was on the stand and I hadn't noticed when I tightened down the nut for the main shaft, that goes through the motor and swing arm, that the motor was sitting on the bike stand. So, I loosened up the nut for the shaft, readjusted the motor with the bike off of the stand and it was all fixed. Stupid mistake. +k2

when you mount motor, try to use washers to take up any space there might be.
this way you are not pulling on mounts.

Did you mix up the spacers by chance?

I think they are different lengths

no, the motor mounts should mount up against the frame.  then put spacers in between the engine and mounts.  the engine might be worn a bit.  use a couple washers to take up the space.

I don't remember there being a space there on my old frame. Is there supposed to be a spacer there?
