Thank you very much for the picture rust.  I am a little slow and pictures make things a lot easier to understand.

thanks for the help everybody. got it all together & no vibration. sounds mean, cant wait to ride after a little break in. the picture was a nice touch but as stated, that third mystery dot was the missing piece of the puzzle. now just gotta figure out the high idle & all set.

Line up THREE dots. The Clymer manual fails to tell of the third. Hot Rods cranks dont have the dot.

Look at the crank as a clock for say. The crank hole needs to be  around 10;00 .Then remember your crank shaft has a hole punched in it  to. when you put the primary gear on the crank you line the hole  on the crank  with the hole on the gear.  After you tighten the gear down .Remember reverse thread on the crank bolt. Well after you do that turn the crank were the hole are at 10:00.The balance shaft  has the dial key that hold the balance weight in place. Turn the balance shaft to were both the crank and the balance punch mark line up when they spin around. Then it in time. I think the crank spins 2 time to the balance shaft 1 . You need a picture i can get you one.

just put together my 92 lt250r after piston went to pieces.i noticed the 2 dimples on the crank & counter gears & aligned them. my question is... how do i know if it is aligned right cause the crank gear will go on in multiple positions but the counter goes on only 1 way. i read the clymer book & it said nothing about putting on the crank gear a certain way, just to align the 2 dimples.if anybody knows, i'd appreciate the help cause i dont want to start it up & have a vibration, then have to tear it apart again
