Now that I look at it again I'm pretty sure you're right Shawn. What thickness of aluminum plate would you use and 6061 or higher right for strength? Considering doing this and don't really have a clue what thickness and grade of aluminum I should be welding in for the extension.

that first one in the pic of 3 looks like its shortened.  looks to short to be stock. 

i was going to extend a 500 swinger years ago, farthest i got was cutting it in half.  still have it in 2 pieces.

Definitely stock +4 and +8. What grade aluminum and thickness did you use?

i used 3" 3/16 wall square tubing on mine. and no holes

What gauge aluminum plate did you use on the 500 also did you drill any holes in the swinger to lighten it?

i have stretched both a 250and 500 to a +3

Anyone ever stretched the stock swing arm? Also I've seen some pictures of stock swing arms with holes drilled in them to lessen weight is this ok or does it jeopardize the strength?
