The carriers mounting bolts are differently off set. The Zilla axle is a larger diameter. using different bearings. The shocks are different. As much of a witch it is to mount the 91 92 250 swinger in the 250 and the Zilla swinger in a 500, I just can't imagine pissing around trying to interchange the 2. That being said, the Zilla swinger would allow the 250 to use the longer heavier axle on a shorter swinger.

good pics

What about sprocket alignment?
You're probably going to have issues there.
-
all 250 and 500 swingarms will mount in each others frames. shock and linkages, 91-92 are the closests. but probably won't bolt right up. weren't made to. but anything can be made to it.

92 is the dirty one.

Got em, post em shortly
-
gillio post some pics if you can of the swingers side by side
-
Motor and frame, looks good. Shock, couldn't tell ya.
-
What about them mount between the frame and motor? Also the shock?
-
250's are longer. I think almost 2"
-
I'm in my garage right now looking at my stock 92 250 and 87 500 side by side and the physical fit on the pivot bolt looks the same other than obvious linkage differences, close. The 250 is actually is about an inch longer. hmmm

Wandering what the difference is and would a aftermarket swinger bolt up and use on either?
