I have actually been emailing matt and this thread has really done good for me. I found that matt has a 310 kit and it sounds perfect for my needs and how i ride. I will tell you this just from the few conversations we have had you can tell he is smart and a very reasonable man.

PROBABLY DIDN'T EVEN NEED ALL THAT WORK DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE IF IT HAD WIRING ISSUES
-
This guy is something else. Blames MHR for a bad motor when he had a electrical problem. Some people need to stick with Legos and pedal bikes.
-
We all have issues & complaints from time to time about different business. The shops listed here on this site are done so because they have proven to be at the top of their game. Phone or e-mail is the best way to contact a builder. And understand that if you want to slam a builder that is a forum member, they have every right to slam back.
Check all grounds & electrical connections. Try a new spark plug & replace the coil and / or CDI with a known good one to see if it gets spark.
-
Man that guy is just not right.
-
yeah its just crazy, so how about a I am sorry post now for tring to trash Matts work.
i dont know how you can biotch when you get free stuff.
-
I am thankful that this whole thing got cleared up because I think MHR is one of the very few people still doing big bores for the lt250 and a bad reputation can put a end to a business real quick, and with our bikes getting left behind for these thumpers we cant afford this slander. I say if people post false negative things about a person or business they get a timeout. Not saying people don't make mistakes but accusing someone of not treating you right when it sounds like that person went above and beyond is crazy.

Wow! Free port job and head mod,and payments,Sound like good customer service to me!!Cant believe someone would talk bad after getting all that and 300$ off. I bet someone doesnt get anymore work done to thier motor, better invest in a manual and some elbow grease!!
-
Glad to see it fixed up. Wiring can be a pain. Maybe once you get it broke in a little you can get a little video of that fine motor throwing a nice roost or even a little wheelie?
-
wow really, some people...
i didnt think Matt would send something out like that..
-
I would like to say that there is 2 sides to a story, he did not tell anyone that he got a free port and head mod, because he told me he wanted it then would not pay for it. Come to find out it was his wiring that was causing the spark problem, anyways once he bitched till we knocked off 300.00 come to find out he did not have the money to pay us, so we were nice enough to set him up on payments.

This was a 28 year old wire harness issue. Not a problem with Matts build. If you have any questions for Matt, please email him. They are working extremely hard with getting everything moved over to the new shop, so it may take up to 48 hours to get back to you.
This should go for any builder. MHR has a very good reputation, and is one of the very few builders that will work with his customers on pricing, payment arrangements, etc. Send him an email Joe, and consider my recommendations as well. You'll get straightened out, just get another swingarm before that one snaps in half LOL

Does any one live close to Romulus mi that knows about lt500 s I need help putin back together <1>
-
I'm just across the bridge from you. I find it hard to believe that Matt would do ANYTHING that could harm his reputation. Give me a call, 813-410-9136

No my manual is missing. I cant get 1 any time soon either. No body locally has 1. I knw it must be an electrical issue. My issues is If the motor was sent to a builder wouldnt the builder verify the ENGINE RUNS before he sends it back? or at the least verify that the stator on the motor is good? I paid a good amount of money to get a running motor sent back to me.
After all the time money and pain I still have a non running quadracer.
Does any one have the information I need? I have an ohm meter.
I am in pinellas county Florida is there anyone in town on here that has time?
-
Do you have a manual? first off get a an OHM meter and check your stator, then the CDI to factory specs, then recheck the connections your problem seems to be electronic not mechanical.
-
I dont see any wires that are not connected. I have not powder coated the frame. It was pc before I got the quad. How would I check to see if I am getting ground to the motor? I am so LOST. Everything looks right. I removed the engine sent it and move the quad from the garage to the side of my house. nothing was done with the roller when I get the motor I installed and theres no spark. L0000000ST....... Salt life is calling me back.... HELP
-
Did you paint or powder the frame, if so clean it off of where the frame touches the motor
-
Check the wires to coil, i have seen those come off when trying tofit the exhaust
-
Double check all connections. Clean off on switch.
-
really, Matt is a good guy to deal with. i find this hard to belive.
did you want motor back together, somtimes that cost more money.
but you can have a bad ground, or bad stator, or maybe your on off switch is bad.
-
The wires are colored. I sure hope I got em right. I would love to link up and see if we could get this beast running.
-
I live in pasco and might be able to help. Are you sure you have the stator and wires hooked up correctly?
-
So I found this company Matt Hatfield Racing, A bunch of people told me he is a LT- God and I would be in good hands. Well, They all lied. I have had the WORST experience EVER.
I dont want to get into that just yet. But, now after many of months I got my motor back from him. It was sent complete. when I say complete I mean it. I took the motor off the quad and put into a box and shipped it. spark plug kick start carb shifter .... you get the point. Weeks ago I got my motor back. nothing else. Yesterday I got the rest of the stuff. I sent an engine that ran, like garbage but would start and run. I installed everything and tried to start it but I have no friggin spark.
I live in pinellas county FLORIDA. MHR is in Kentuky and will not answer my questions. someone please help me. I have NOT had a running quad in over a year. I just want to ride so bad. Ive spent THOUSANDS on an 86 LT250r and still am only able to sit on it and dream of riding.
How do I check the stator? what do I do? I am LOST. <1>
