I like the flex pipe! You can convert from an in-frame to an OOF drag pipe in a matter of seconds! Plus, it allows for small variations in motor placement in hybrids! lol

I was lucky enough to see it in person.  Even saw him destroy a banshee.  His dad is Bill Clinton. Seriously, he's Bill Clinton.   The HBD hybrid was a site to see!  The ULTIMATE sleeper bike.

Yeah, wasn't his name Kirk?
Called it the HBD (hillbilly deluxe)
He was from somewhere in AZ too...

I rode with him and that bike was fast, he was an engineering student and made the pipe out of microwave sheet metal

belive it or not, but that bike with that fast flex pipe is no slacker.

Sorry man ..........I don't believe it.    You have Dyno graphs to prove that statement?

we should all try to make somewhat of an effort not to turn exhaust thread in to a "my pipe is better than yours." maybe try to keep the b.s. in the lounge section and keep the technical section somewhat technical...

voodoo: that is what is similar to what posted about trying to crown on pipe as the "best." dyno graphs on all the pipes on the same motor will show where these pipe shine and the buyer can decide if the power band matches his riding style. i think someone should temporarily "steal" the only pipe that is the no show, have it dynod, then put back on the quad before the owner finds out!  2c

Agreed, at the end of the day though, people do need to stop arguing about who is best. "BEST" is really relative isn't it?

Riding style, and what you ride. The trail/harescramble racer isn't going to like the same pipe as the hillshooter, duner, drag racer. MX racers don't run drag pipes, and vice versa. Jerrys, RK's, either of the Matts pipes are going to have their own specific powerband that better suits any number of different uses. How does this ALWAYS end up turning into this?

Hateraid, seat of pants dyno, real world... Whatever.

Dune riders ask about dune pipes, hillshooters ask fellow hillshooters, XC guys ask fellow XC guys. That seems to make too much sense to me I guess.

Joking or not Hotbutta at least your thinking, much props to using your brain.  News flash - - the pipe will not pull the same on the top as it does in the "real world" on a car dyno unless heated the same  .. In the " real world" it quits early...  pst!.. dont tell anyone.. Rev that sucker out hard and tell me what happens...  I'm delusional, right?

Or you could shift a gear and let that baby pull hard again...(might save on revving that long stroke motor)......as we all know its about your riding style.

Key words RIDING STYLE....Lets Race

Really Kennerz? I respect you because you hav way more experience with quadzillas than I do but do you honestly have to turn every pipe thread into a pissing match and sling poop at everything that you don't 100% agree with?
Title: Re: HPR#19
Post by: Hotbutta on January 27, 2013, 12:42:10 pm
I figured this pipe was developed on a car dyno that heated the pipe more than actual riding will so the ceramic coating should maintain similar internal temps. The silencer is treated as well. The piston actually has two different coatings. On the skirt to reduce wear and crown for heat.

Does anyone have a picture of a HPR#19 chromed or nickel plated? I've only seen one in raw form and I'm debating between the Hall pipe the DCS 4 and the Q V2. Thanks to anyone who might have a photo.
