I've been doing the orings for 3+ years. Not sure where 414 got his information from.

If yoru using a cool dome then you would be using the 88 head studs (10mm base - 8 mm top) I use an o ring on the step then use copper washers with non serrated (flat) nuts, its hard to get tall enough acorn nuts (sealed top nuts)
its the same for 10mm studs (minus the O rings on the studs)
-
Does coolant seep thru the nuts/head studs? What's the way to handle it?
-
On average how often do you have to reset the ring? lol just curious
-
I hate scraping off old gasket material...
Your way ahead doing the o ringing
My next head will be o ringed for sure
-
Its working great for me!
-
Thanks for the info guys! now does the o-ring work much better than the gaskets?
-
I know HPR and MHR can do it.
Iceracer was a no last year.........I am not sure about Dr. Q either
-
Goto the engine builders section on this site, contact info is there
-
I'm interested in this too but who can answer nasty Zella's first question? Who can do this?
-
My answer to that is yes.
To get the squish right, the builder needs to verify the cylinder height. There may have been previous milling to the cylinder base or top.
-
You can just do the head, best way is to have the engine there to make sure of clearances and the squish gap is set correctly (0.050" to .055").
-
Mitch in order to have these two things done (squish and o ring) you have to send your entire engine or just your head?
-
You will be also wanting the squish angle and length of squish cut re done also, also you need to tell who does this the bore size, seen prices from low as $60 to $200 depending on who you use
-
Who can i get to O-ring my head? and how much is it gonna cost?
