Good times!!

Had a few more bikes than last year. Just had the problem of getting everyone together at the same time. I will post up some pics in a day or 2 and I'm in the process of getting a short vid together and I'll post that up when I'm done in the video section.

Thanks everyone who came out this year.

Probably could be welded up and ears done at the same time.

Should be there Thursday afternoon / eve. Have to make a stop in tillamook to visit parents and put a paddle on the KX. May camp sandlake tues or we'd night before going to Winchester

Yeah that's my plan is to have it welded. My work schedule has been insane these past two months so i have not had any time to mess with it. But i should have it ready for Zillathon. I will be bringing the CR500.

What happened to the cylinder?? Was it bored over 89.5?

No its at 87.25mm . But there is a 4" long crack at the base of the cylinder right above the ears.

We have our site reserved at Half Moon Bay. We will come down late Thursday or first thing Friday and stay until Monday. My Zilla is down at the moment it has a 4" long crack along the bottom of the cylinder. Should have it back up and running by then just not sure what cylinder it will have on it.

Bump - getting close!

Yep, about 5 weeks away. We've invited a couple more people to come down and join us. Our site is full now. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces again.
Maybe we should start a new "Roll Call" thread, just  to see who is coming and where they're camping.

How is the search for a Zilla coming along Dave?

Not much luck selling mine, there's a few good bikes out there, but I need to clear some room first. We went looking at toy haulers this past weekend.

20-25 works. I typically have sun-wed off but can trade to get weekend days off.

Rjtlt- did you find a pipe for the trx?  There is a guy on 250.net parting one out with a pipe already made.

Thanks Maxx, i did buy that pipe it doesn't have any markings on it so it must be a custom built of some sort.

My vacation is in for the 24th. My brother will probably drive down from tillamook with his slowshee.
James is welcome to camp with us as well if he needs a spot.

Where is st. Anthonys?

Reddog, it's in Idaho, about 50 miles NW of Idaho Falls

St Anthony's in July.... Weather is warming now time to check it out :)
St. Anthony sounds good, i will have to look into that as an option for July.

Keep me up to date, we may have time to head over for a few days in July depending on what days you guys pick to go.

Our July dates are the 20th thru the 25th or 26th. We have a wedding to attend on the 27th. How is the search for a Zilla coming along Dave?

I will bring my CR500AFC again and I'm also building a TRX500 it should be ready for the August trip , hopefully i can have it finished for the June trip but i have a lot of work left.

Anyone care if I poach a tent site from them?
J, Send me a PM, you are more than welcome to grab a tent spot at our site. I think we may have 4-6 coming down, but there should be plenty of room.

24th weekend in Aug sounds good to me. If its in set in stone ill start making plans. Ill be traveling from TF idaho if any Colorado / Utah fellas want to ride along.
J

I think were good. I am going to make plans on Monday and get a spot, I'm thinking the 21st thru the 25th.
As I said in my earlier post, we had 3 votes for June and August, but I don't know if I can make June, but anyone is welcome to get something set up if they're planning on going and I might be able to join in if I can get away.

OK guys, looks like we have 3 votes for a ride in June and in August and 2 votes for August 24th/25th.

I am good for the August ride (24th/25th) weekend.
June, I am not sure yet. So if someone wants to set up the June ride, I am good with that and will try to attend.

I am thinking Half Moon Bay campground for the weekend in August. Is everyone OK with that?
Some sites are reservable and some are 1st come, 1st served.
I think I will call this Monday and see what's available and maybe reserve a site for me.

Let's get this wrapped up.
How many are going or planning on going in August?
I will plan on getting there the 21st or 22nd and leaving Sunday the 25th.

Sorry I didn't get back earlier, been super busy with work.
I am meeting a guy tomorrow to maybe work out a deal to trade both my 250's and parts for a 87 500 and cash.
also might pull the trigger on some hybrid parts as well.
I'll keep ya posted, either way, I will be there in August

I added a poll so everyone can vote. (it's at the top of this thread)
I allowed 2 votes per person, that way you can vote for your top 2 options and we can decide from there.
The poll expires March 29th.

Just a note, if I sell my 250's, I will still be there with something.
Also, if you or your friends don't have an LT, they are still welcome to join us. We had some non-LT rides there last year and it was a blast!
Thanks guys

Sounds like most are good to go with "Winchester".
So I think, IMO, that the location is set.

Now just the date or date(s)

Heard a few comments on late August.....

So are you guys going again in august like last year if so I might be able to make that.

No worries Dave . The weekend of the 24th-25th would be my best option for August. How about  mid to late June?

I'm also OK with mid to late June as well.
15th/16th or 22nd/23rd
Nothing says we can't have 2 Zillathon's this year......?

Chime in guys and let's get the date set so we can get reservations going.
I'm liking Half Moon Bay this year instead of Discovery campground.

I would make either of the june dates work. Half Moon Bay is a better option for the campground .

It sounds like August might be the best month, I know school starts up in September. The last weekend of August ties into Labor day and that might be a bit crowded. I know you (RJLT) will be in Sand Lake the first weekend of August. I wanted to head down, but that weekend is Martha's birthday and we have other plans.

I'm thinking, maybe, the weekend of the 17th and 18th (arrive the 15th, leave the 18th or 19th) or the weekend of the 24th and 25th (arrive around the 22nd and leave the 25th or 26th).

Just throwing some dates out there.

I'm open for whenever and wherever.

Unfortunately the rangers at florence get a kick out of giving sound tickets. They chase you down in pairs and enjoy ruining your weekend. Winchester bay is by far a better choice for zilla owners.

OK, heard a few members talking about getting something going for the Northwest group, so I'll jump in again and get it started.
First, I guess we need to pick a date and then location....or vice versa
I am open to any and all idea's.
Are we thinking a Spring trip (March/April/May)?, Summer (June, July, Aug)?
Location...Winchester Bay?, Florence?, Coos Bay? St Anthony's?

Let's get a good conversation going and everyone's input and then maybe set up a poll....
