Where to go to get the Hot Set Up for a GoPro3
« on: June 24, 2013, 03:47:57 pm »
I been shopping around the internet, looking to buy a Go Pro 3 system, what are all the items that you need? I see these kits  but I read closely that you still need a memory card, what cases? extra battery's? what is the difference between the Black and silver editions?

The black edition has many upgrades. Better quality and sound, comes with remote, many other little things too. But I like my silver edition just fine!  +k2 Got mine from bestbuy too.

SAMs club in my area has the gopro 3 silver with iPhone/android controller app and remote and all case and multiple mounts for $199 a sweet deal considering at best buy this same setup without the $70 app is $279. If you don't have that deal out west I can buy it for you Mitch and ship it to you. It's the gopro setup I'm getting myself.

All of your new SD cards come with micro SD card and then the regular SD card so you can use either or.

I duct tape a cell phone to my hairy man chest, had better results.
I actually have a little camera that I mount inside the cockpit of my little RC planes that works great in lieu of a gigantic gopro.
It's cheap too:

You can find it on Amazon too, video quality isn't HD or anything, but it's so small you can literally stick it to your forehead with superglue.
Comes with a clip if you'd rather put it on your shirt or something gay like that, also has a few mounts and a silicone case.

If you want something small and basic that captures HD video for only $37, you can buy one of these:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17200__HD_Wing_Camera_1280x720p_30fps_5MP_CMOS.html
You really don't need any sort of hard case or waterproofing unless you're going to ride through mud and rain.

Something super cheap, just for the purpose of recording any kind of video?
How about a camera the size of a key fob selling for $7?

My daughter started working for gopro about a month ago in customer support.  She came home all excited because they give all the employees a gopro hero3 with all the mounts and 2 huge memory cards---looks like dad is going to be borrowing it a lot :)

Mitch, make sure you mount it on bike so we can see that it is you riding the bike.
anyone can can ride it and make a vid for you, we need proof that it is really you..
i would not pay over 200 for any gopro, the honda house by me sold my wife one for under 200
bucks and we got all kind of stuff with it. all i had to do is get a better memory card for mine.
but i think if you talk to them they might help you out on the price. even Target has gopro stuff
cheap.
life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sidays totally worn out shouting "HOLY SH*T...WHAT A RIDE!"
