A radiator shop can hot tank your pipe just like they do a radiator.. its cheap and it will be squeaky clean.  I learned that from a local Plating shop.  They wouldn't let a dirty used pipe near their chemical tanks.
Exactly, that's what Matt also told me when I was having some pipes replated.
