We need a Quadracer shock guru here on the site, someone that "KNOWS" how to revalve and re build and get the correct springs for front and rear shock services.

Jerry does a re-valve and re-spring as needed that is pretty good and he stands behind his work.

i can do rebuilds no problem.  its the revalves i haven't been able to do.  lost alot of work because of it.  tried getting charts years ago with no luck.  maybe i looked in the wrong places.

dezsled, you can get those adjuster knobs from suzuki, the little screw too.  i posted a few pictures of them awhile ago.

I have not torn down the OEM Shocks, but I have the shim stack measurements for the Custom Axis Rear shock.  We could possibly start building up a repository / database of information regarding valving changes and their effects.

Rebuilding the shocks yourself could be an item that some people would like to do in the future.

We do alot of suspension work including rebuilding and revalving work on the LT500 rear shocks.  We also have a selection of rear shock springs in stock.  We do not have a source for new shock bodies but alot of the other parts we can still get.

Motorgeek your shop needs a website sir! Thanks for the reply to my email today btw.

How will a web site improve our customer service and allow me to be more productive?  The business owners that I have talked to say their web sites have increased the time they have to spend answering emails, phone calls, and answering PMs,   I spend over 6 hrs a day interacting with potential customers now.  This does not allow much time for me to do what I am good at.  The Internet has made our company more visible to potential customers that do not know the difference between high quality products and services and are just window-shopping for the lowest price.

If you are buying a 12 oz can of Coke, shop for the lowest price.  You will be getting EXACTLY the same product (can of Coke) regardless what you paid for it.    If you are shopping for a service like machine work, porting, custom exhaust systems and so on, you have to hold the product in your hand, inspect the machine work, experience the performance increase 1st hand or talk to someone that has had a good or bad experience with your products or service.

Look at web sites where the companies list their prices for particular services.  When there is a list of services like boring a cylinder, porting, head milling, crankshaft rebuilding, engine rebuilding etc, you do not know what type of equipment the shop is using, the level of experience of the technician or how much time the shop is taking to do your job.  Many of the prices I see listed on the majority of the web sites tell me they have not spent the money on the proper equipment and they are not paying for experienced machinist, welders, and mechanics.  It cost me more to pay my machinist to bore a cylinder, modify a head, or do a valve job on a head than what some of the internet advertisers are charging for service with the same name.  What type of quality can you expect from those low priced operations?  I talk to guys daily that have paid top dollar for a particular product or service and did not get what they paid for.  This is one of the dangers of an attractive web sit or flashy magazine advertisement.

The majority of the people that spend their hard earned money with us are sold on our products and services before they make contact with us.  Our type of business seems to be best promoted by satisfied customers telling other potential new customers of there experience.

I am open for suggestions on ways to improve customer service, job quality and increase the time I can spend developing better products.  35 years ago, I was able to spend 80 % to 90% of my time doing what I am good at.  Nowadays I am lucky to spend 10% to 20% of my time doing what I am good at.

Motorgeek my shop website request was mainly about a website that would show pictures of your work videos of customers and their reviews and stuff like that. Being that I live in Cincinnati it's not like I can go riding this weekend with someone who has a motor that's been worked over by you so I can see your handy work in person and maybe even take a ride to see if its what I'm after with my build. There are varying ranges of cost to have engine machining done and I know and am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and it's cheaper to pay more to have something done right the first time than to pay to have it done twice.

I will attest to Jerry's work, he answers the phone, he shares his knowledge, is good on turn around, he does what he says he's going to do, and when I get my stuff back I know it's done right and if there is an issue he stands behind it.   (Y)

I can't ask for more from him and that's a lot better than a lot of other shops where stuff disappears for months, no one picks up the phone once they got your stuff and/or your money, and when you finally get it back (if you do) it's sloppy or not even done right.

I pay more for Jerry's services but there is no smoke & mirrors, no magic formula, it's always exactly what we talk about and he explains everything up front and when I get it back it runs like we talked about.

Nowadays I am lucky to spend 10% to 20% of my time doing what I am good at.

This is because you are passionate about what you do and have knowledge that you've gained over many years that you are willing to share with customers & potential customers.

IMHO a website or some sort of depository of your knowledge like the SQHQ Hpr section could be a way for you to cut down on some of the time required to educate each potential customer individually and help establish a baseline knowledge about your products & services prior to someone calling.  That way you could spend less time on the phone re-educating potential customers  ;D         2c

Back on topic; I have one of Jerry's shocks, I'm 310lbs, we ride pretty hard, and it works great!
