Trevorton riding?
« on: July 01, 2013, 07:24:29 am »
Just saw in another thread that a number of us are within a few hours of trevorton. I have never been but always wanted to go. Im prob. About 3 1/2 hours from there.
When my ankle and wrists finally heal, i wanna head up there. Do you need to buy the sticker from RAC?  Would like to get a ride together maybe late july or sometime in august.  Hopefully can hook up with some guys who know the trails and ins and outs of riding up there.

I would be down for a ride but would like to plan when a few guys from this site go down. http://wellsvilletrails.com/forum/index.php As they hook up with the big banshee guys that really know the entire area. Also it definitely wont happen this month for me as my quad isn't even done yet due to someone!  (pg) But maybe late August ?

Yes those are pics of trevorton. Dirt bikes need to be insured and quads need registration and insurance but it dose not have to be a pa registration.  http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/

I would try to make the ride i know my buddy and his fourstroke friends go up there and camp out for the weekend. Im about 2 hoursish away from there. How would one go about geting registration for a lt that dosent have a title? Im pretty sure my buddy just goes without issurance or registration

I live in md and we dont have an option for registration. I registered my yfz in PA 2 years ago for $20. Dont remember if they needed a title. It was very laid back. I think we brought our titles to the mc shop and they didnt even look at them. Just the vins and our DL #s.  took about 20 mins, we got temp tags and rode the weekend in a michaux state forest.
I heard that you also need a RAC sticker. Currently $150 for the calender year i think. Im sure some savvy locals ride without the sticker, but i didnt want to chance it driving 3-4 hours to get an impound. Thats the only reason i havent gone. If i can get 3 + good rides a year in, the $150 seems worth it considering the amount of riding area you get for that.

The $125.00 for the tags is well worth it to ride at  Trevorton  St Clair Pottsville  and Centralia

DL as in drivers license. As far as insurance, you only need liability insurance to ride in PA to protect against injuries or property damage. My yfz has full coverage for 128$ a year. I have not been able to track down good full coverage for the zilla yet. Guess ill have to go with liability for now.
Last i checked you need to go to RACs office in pottsville in person to get the sticker.

After you get your quad registered and insured you can make a copy of your registration insurance and drivers license and mail it in with the access permit form http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/RA_ACCESS-PERMIT-2013-web-v1.pdf                                                        or you can just go there. http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/

I was reading through the previous comments and am kind of confused.... is Trevorton legal to ride at?? I though it was just one of those ride at your own risk places like Hillsville or Wellsville.

Reading anthracite owns the property. If you buy the access permit for $125.00 per year you can ride on all there property's legally. I buy the permit for the year.
