Needed shock pieces!!!!!!!!
« on: December 13, 2013, 11:22:59 pm »
Tried to put a 89 shock head on a 92 shock
And did not realize I was crushing the little
Gear in the shock head and the adjuster  bar.
Does anybody have these pieces Lying around
that they don't need and would be willing to let go!

i do have these, but i'll have to see if the 91-92 are the same as the older shocks.  i have more older shock than the 91-92's

thats not how you change the seal heads.  you have to pull the valving off from the other end.  it just a pain to line up those gears

Exactly what did you do? The heads are not compatible with the two different shafts. One is a orifice the other is a needle adjustment. They don't inter change and work properly.

I just looked at the pic, looks like he might have changed the shafts from an 89 into the 91.  That's not going to mount in a 91-92 rear end now.

what i was trying to accomplish was using the newer 91 92 shock because the seals were good so i tried to put my 89 head on the newer shock and just not have that adjustment  on the end ! failed to accomplish , so i am trying to use the 89 shock with original head canister etc. i am going to send my shock out to be rebuilt but now i need these two pieces to go back to original ,shock company said they could not locate the pieces. i know nothing about these shocks and was experimenting and failed . the shock is the older one i need the gear and adjustment bar for .
