The cylinder needs the ears reinforced.

A guy from Australia just shipped me an engine that he bought from the USA about a year ago. He has had nothing but trouble with it. We just took it apart and inspected it. It needs a lot of changes to make it a reliable and powerful engine. It looks like someone tried to apply everything they new about Chevrolets to this LT500. It does not appear they knew much about high performance two strokes. I wonder if the engine on the new ebay listing was built by the same guy that built the engine I just received from Australia?

Short answer nope. But the one thing i will say about Trinity is that they are adamant about reinforcing the ears. Make me think it wasn't done by Trinity. Even if it was, 2k is a rip.

The engine mentioned in the above post was also an ebay engine and first was advertised as being fathered by me. DNA samples were taken and proved I was not the father........... Then it was said to be fathered by someone from Edlebrock.

Who is going to be given the credit for building this polished up package with who knows what is inside?

I remember the motor you're talking about Jerry. It came from a big dune bike + lot + drag parts lot sell then got parted out. The quad was sick as a mofo and was originally listed as sold with an edelbrock motor. Then it hit feebay as a motor from hpr, then listed again as edelbrock.

I'm sure others remember it,,,,

This is from that same guy again who parts them out. "The dirt factory" he claimed a hall motor a few months back and got called out on it and then he back peddled. He's a scammer!!

This guy was featured in everyone's favorite magazine Dirt Wheels a few months back, he had a built up TRX250R. He has the eBay store "The Dirt Factory" where he buys and sells old Honda and Suzuki parts.

Wow, you folks are a tough crowd. And yes motoman991 you sent me a messgage. Cute. As I have explained before I buy these buys here in CA usually after they have been listed for a month or two. The machines are not selling out here, but the parts are. If anything I like to think I am bringing some nice parts to people that want and need them. If you do not like my auctions or trust me, please feel free to not bid. As for the engines, I am at the mercy of what I am told by the seller, and a lot of times it is not the original builder of the machine. I try to represent them as accurately as possible. As for the 'Edelhall' engine that sold for $3000 last year, the final info I got on it was that Edelbrock built the engine and Hall built the stroker crank. That was after the run around from the tweeker kid that delivered it to me, and then finally getting some better info from his dad. As for this engine, I have no reason to not believe it was not built by Trinity other than the non welded tabs. 89mm is 535cc, got that down. Anyways, I do not mean any disrespect to the zilla folks, and I am not trying to scam anyone. The buy it now price is simply that. It is not a suggested retail price and I am not expecting to get that. This is a very nice engine and someone will be quite happy with it.

I am not taking it personally. There is only so much I can to to truly determine the origins of an engine that I list. In most cases I feel that for the most part I am able to get somewhat reliable info from the seller. I know 250R engines well enough to usually be accurate in their descriptions, but the zilla engines are a different animal. Trinity built a ton of zilla engines here in So Cal. The Edelhall engine should have just been listed as an unknown built engine, but it was unique enough that I wanted to try to get some definitive information listed.

Well, that was over a year ago. If I get another that is in question I would certainly contact him, but I believe he marks the cylinder on his. And I am not sure how he would verify that he built the stroker crank in an engine without complete teardown. On top of that someone messaged me saying that he never built stroker cranks. The engine was claimed to have been built and assembled by engineers at Edelbrock, which may be why the person that has it now is saying that it looks like someone applied everything they know about a small block Chevy to it. There was no sense in asking Jerry if built it because he did not. A lot of it was smoke and mirrors it seemed with no real way to verify anything. To top that I picked up a zilla yesterday and the guy says that Dr. Q built the engine in the mid 1990's. Was he around then??

Yes, Dr Q was around in the 90's. I believe he worked at SCR (Suzuki Country Racing) at the time the Quadzilla was introduced.

Not to hijack but whats the deal with these "turbo crank"?Snakeoil or do they actually gain something?I,ve heard of people doing them years ago along with "kniving" but pretty sure its expensive.Just curious on what the deal is.
