After a call to Bret as I was leaving town, I made it and immediately seen a lt250 being towed in to camp at the end of roadrunner. The guy on the lt250 waved hello. Musta been a sign of things to come. The girlfriend wanted to stay in the truck out of the wind, so I hopped on the Zilla to try to find anyone from the site. Cruising around I found two camps with afew suzukis, I'd stop and say hello and ask if Bill was around. Getting confused looks I'd ask are you guys from the site? More confused looks I said sorry wrong people DOH!! And I would take off again. So I had some fun playing desert racer going down to the drag strip & back hoping to run into someone anyone whom might be apart of the site. Then I squeeked the piston & coasted to a stop, in front of what turned out to be very cool people. I used my cell phone to call my gf to come get me. And then I kinda hid behind my wounded machine embarrassed that I had blasted by there earlier a couple times.... Then a kid walks up to me carrying three drinks- a water a soda and a beer. I took the water and gulped it down noticing there were eyes on me. The gf shows up on the ltr450 and I get the tow tie down dialed in and then ..... The frigging 450 refused to fire!!! So I wait hoping the battery will catch up .. Hoping and hoping.... Then that same kid and his dad walk up with a battery booster! Man what luck! I pull the gf with the now running 450 and make it back safe & relieved. The gf sayz god must have been looking out for me. I went back with some cash to repay the good deed that was bestowed upon me but since the wind was blasting no one was there. I did say a little prayer saying thanks for not making me endure the wind and embarrassment of my misfortune, and give that cool family good luck in the future..
