LT500R hybrid project
« on: January 20, 2021, 04:50:29 am »
So just lucked up in a basket case lt500r engine. Needs lots of care maybe a new crank and other internals. Im tryna figure out who makes or sells parts for these anymore. Is sb designs still around for hybrid mounts and im debating whether to use one of my lt250r frames or go try a ltr450 one. I know the engine is not an 87 it dont have the big intake. But your guys advice is very appreciated. If I can I wanna make it a hybrid drag quad but if I can't do that then I wanna make it a fun toy to rip around.

My advice is go with a modern suspension hybrid.  I hear Ltr450s are tight because of the rear shock location but not impossible.

I believe Rath Racing builds yfz450/lt500r hybrids all the time.
