LT50.... goods? Bads? What to look for?
« on: September 07, 2013, 06:23:58 am »
May be going to check out a 2003 LT50.... anything to look for on these?  I know nothing about them!!  The 2003's were still 2 stroke correct?  And what's a clean one go for?
Thanks for any input!

i think 06 was last year for the 2 stroke, i have heard to check foot pegs area for bends and rear trailing arm
the arm goes through the motor so make sure the rear end has no play. Landen is 3 now and rides his like he
stole it, lol check wheels for play and a arms, just like you checking out another old 250. lol grab everything
and see is you can get it to move. most of the time the only thing that gets does is fuel added to the kids bikes.

its pretty cool, we go over on our ranch and ride the trails, he will follow me all through them, then
i stop and let him ride around so i can get some vids, he is using the brake pretty good now. but
it is still scary, the  bike is not fast, but damm he makes me nervous. lol

FX - did you wind up getting the 50?  what did you pay?  any maintenance issues or anything yet

I found one a few hours from me (2004 KFX50), so maybe that will work out

No Im still looking... Ive seen a few around here... pretty clean... red 03's and 02's I think.  All have been around 500-$750 ish... I actually have a buddy who works w/ a guy that has one that won't start... thinks it's an 04 or 05, def. still a 2 stroke.  Im actually gonna try to trade him my snowblower for it lol.... let ya know if it goes down...but I'm on the lookout for a real good deal, not in a rush at all (my boy is only 4 months lol)...
