Proper reed petal adjustment on V2"s for LT500
« on: May 07, 2013, 01:51:32 pm »
It has been mentioned that the V2'2 need to have the tension correctly adjusted. How is this done?  What is the correct tension?  Just curious what is the effect of not being adjusted correctly ie  wont rev..no low end..break..just down on power  etc..   Thanks

Set the reed tension to the high tension setting or the reeds will "float" if you have a pipe that will allow the engine to rev.  On some engines the engine will misfire and others the engine will suffers a power loss at high RPM when the reeds float.

Loosen the screws and push the backstop in the direction that will allow it to make contact with the reed petal at the lowest lift possible.

Thank you.  So it looks like I adjust the backstop away from the reed tips  or in other words back against the base towards the cage mounting holes---If thats Not the right way someone please correct me.
Appreciate it MototGeek.
