How hard is it to replace crank seals and bearings?

Going thru my 88 zilla restoration and just like doing it right the first time and am wondering about the crank seals and bearings. I thought the bike was barely ridden but the cylinder is punched out to 88.5m. Im going to have jerry hall do some porting work a new pipe and carb and head mods so I'm thinking about replacing the crank seals and bearings. Is it a easy fix the change seals and bearings?

if you think dissassembling the whole engine is an easy fix, go for it.  if its your first engine, its not gonna be easy

the whole engine has to be dissassembled, main bearings pressed out and new ones pressed in.  then reassemble the engine.

Take lots of pics as you go threw the steps of disassembling the engine.  So you have reference points if you get stumped

I just disasembled my first 250 motor, I wouldnt say that it was that hard to do and I feel very confident in reassembling. I dont know if the 500 will be much harder. but just like WV said, take lots of pictures. But what I did was used my gopro while I was working on it. that works VERY well, if theres a small part that your unsure of make sure to get a good shot of it.

Also heres a good tip for bearings that BadMoonRcing posted on my thread.

"Heres a good tip, put the Bearings in a deep freeze for 48 hours, when your ready to drop in the bearings heat the cases in an electric oven for about an hour at 225-250, pull the cases out quick and the bearings should almost drop in. Note DO NOT USE YOUR WIVES NEW OVEN!!!!!"
