under-steers is when you see the tree the goes in. overrides is when you hear the tree which you were going on.

Hot rods are junk, they have very inconsistant tolerances and their bearings SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Use the oem rod and lower bearing, and the billet washers and 99 rm 250 pin bearing on the top.

Frank, the Hot Rod's big end of the rod and bearing are 2mm narrower than stock. The washers make up the additional difference. It will thus wear out 10% faster than a stock rod and parts.

Just don"t try to use a stock oem bearing on hotrod  rod ,the bearing is larger  on hotrod rod then the oem rod. I found this out the hard way when i bought a oem bearing to use on my hotrod rod kit. The hotrod crank pin is the same Id as the oem crank pin. Hot rod done that so they can use the same bearing on pretty much all their kits on the 2 strokes.  I think it has the same width at the big end but the thrust washer that come with with the hot rod kit are taller since the rod hole is bigger. But i had good luck out of mine. I hope this help you.

I forgot about that! The bearing fits, but not well.
As for the width, the OEM is 24x32x22mm, and the HR is 24x32x20. That's so they can use the same bearing in the 250 rod kit. The OEM 250 bearing is 24x30x20, and the HR is 24x32x20, which is the same bearing they improperly used in the Zilla kit.

Kyle the  the oem bearing in a hot rod rod lets the rod move side to side a 1inch  each way. When your pulling the rod side to side on the when the oem bearing is inserted on the crank pin. The hotrod bearings is probalbly  4 to 8mm taller then the oem bearing. Their is no way you could ever use oem bearing on a hotrod kit. Also the hotrod bearing will not fit inside oem rod.

You need to watch the wear on the rod.

You can measure the wear by pushing the rod against one lobe and then tipping the small end over.  Place a dial gauge indicator against the top of the small end and tip it over diagonally.

When you get to .080 it's time to replace, replace it with OEM rod and big end parts.
