carb selection

should i use my 87 stock carb or my 38 bored to 40mm air striker quad vent? with a aaen pipe and port  on my 540

Me personally? I would use the stock Mikuni. It can be modded to work with your application.

I like the PWK 38 over a TM or the PWK A/S. I also don't like boring carbs as you are never sure if the bore is done good.
With the A/S being a little bigger of a **** to tune, when boring, it can effect the pilot tuning even more.

I prefer a modded TM......I ran a PWK and later a Q modded TM and liked the Mikuni much better.Just my .02
Can,t fix stupid.:)
