I believe I am making progress. The lower the carb slide is the less it does this. Followed Iceracer's jetting guide in the tech talk section. My carb slide was a lot higher than 1/8. Lowered it down a lot. Put a 35 pilot in instead of the 30. I have the air screw at about 2 turns out right now and it seems pretty good. When letting off the throttle it doesn't ping the pipe anymore. It is almost like shutting the motor off until it gets to idle speed. And it has been starting on race fuel at 30 degrees. Usually I had to put some heat on it for a couple minutes before it would start. It still is a LITTLE higher idle but it is barely noticeable and corrects itself after about 3 or 4 seconds. If this all sounds normal, I am good until it warms up. Then its time to start all over again. Does anyone know if they make a pilot air screw with a thumb wheel on it? That would be great for me as I can get my fingertip on the air screw but can't get a screwdriver on it to turn it without tipping the carb.
