• Did any of the magazines back in the day ever dyno a stock 87 Big Reed Motor vs. the 88 Plus Small Reed 500 Motors?
  
  Stock vs. Stock - I am curious to see what a HP and TQ curve would look like on each motor. What was the reason Suzuki went to the smaller intake on the 500? Did they need to tame it down? Did they or the public feel the large reed motor was lacking somewhere in the powerband? I am just curious - suzukiquadracerhq

• Hey Matt, I remember reed and reed block shootouts on a honda (I think) back then on timers. Don't remember a big to small write up for LT's

• Well the theory going around for years has been that the larger 87 is capable of producing larger horsepower numbers and the smaller 88 and up produces better torque numbers.

• Let us know how it compares to the small reed you were running. Will you get a similar port? If the pipe stays the same, it should be a interesting comparison.
