I am going to trim my front and rear fenders. Any tips. What tool is best to cut them with--jig saw, die grinder, shears?? then what is the best way to clean up the edge. Thanks
A real man wouldn't ask, but instead maliciously gnaw at the fenders with pure testosterone and hate until they looked manly enough to ride.
...a jigsaw works pretty good too.
I used a bosch jig saw with a t101 blade
i still need to trim mine, let me know what works best for you.
Use a jig saw then clean up with a dremel tool
Coping saw works good too. If you f^$# it up with that you cant blame the power tool.
I've used a jig saw, cut off wheel on a air tool, with good results. When getting close to the tape or grease pencil lines I found the cheese grater / surform tool to get to where finishing with sand paper & a quick pass from a mapp torch to complete the job.
I used a coping saw with a fine blade when I cut out for a new pipe. Worked well for each of the twelve cuts it took to get the fit right...
if you have a good jig saw it is simple. you can use tape to mark where you want cut and cut right along the edge of the tape. the edges will be smooth but will still need to be hit with a fine file or fine sand paper if you want the edges shginey hit the edge lightly with a mapp torch but not to much to blacken or disfigure the plastic.
