This past week I purchased an 88' Zilla' but one of the previous owners removed the headlights as well as the brakelight. Its my goal to make it back to original as possible but I have no idea where to wire the lights. This is my 1st 2-stroke that I've ever worked on, I have experience with 4-stroke (Raptor). I attempted to trace the wires from the handlebar where the original light switch is located but Im not sure whether the wires I found are for the ignition or what and wanted to be sure before I tampered with it. Is there a guide or a diagram on how to wire up the headlights and I would like the brakelight as well. Thanks and Im glad to be a Zilla' owner!!!!
The lighting system is ran off the stator. There are 3 total coils and 2 of them are for the lights. The power wire is yellow with a red stripe. You may want to get an owners manual if the original wiring harness is gone. Also, check your voltage prior to hooking up the lights, be sure your voltage regulator is functioning correctly. faulty voltage regulators will make quick work of your lights.
Welcome to Zilla ownership. Pain in ass at first, but well worth the instant gratification you get when mashing on the throttle of a big bore 2-stroke.
If someone has their Zilla down could you take pics of how the lights are wired up? Ive been looking everywhere but can't get it figured out. Thanks
Go on google images and punch in quad Zila wiring diagram. That will give you a complete wiring diagram.
Thanks rogue. My phone refuses to pet pics. Never had this problem before. I have an i6 my last I phone had no issues. Tried 5 times to post that diagram and it never went through.

Technology never seems to work when you want
Thanks, man. Hopefully I'll be able to get them wired up this weekend sometime.
