Well as some of you might know the founder of Maul Tech ATV, Andy Maul passed on this year. Andy was a wealth of knowledge and real word experience when it came to tuning ATV suspension (and motors) and had taken over some of Lazarus Sommers suspension work from GT thunder (
http://www.gtthunder.com/) when he passed away in 2014.
At the time of Andy's passing I was working with him to get a custom set of their GT suspension (
http://www.maultechatv.com/GT%20Suspension/home.htm) made for my new 2+2 set up. Since Andy's Passing Drew Cox has taken over and is now running Maul Tech ATV (
http://www.maultechatv.com/home.php) and I ended up dealing with him. The transition was a little shaky and Drew definitely does not have the breath or dept of knowledge that Andy did but he has stepped up the plate and with some help from friends, programs written by Andy, and past employees Drew is continuing to run Maul Tech ATV and make custom built ATV shocks as well service existing shocks.
I contacted Drew right after Andy passed so it was hit and miss for a month or so but after that Drew worked with me to get my custom set up done right and out the door. The shocks arrived the day before my first trip of the season and it was a "I'm not 100% sure these will work but let's try them and see" deal and to my surprise they worked good right out of the box.
I have two trips on them now and they work so good I don't even notice that they are there and I often forget that I went to 2+2's with custom extended upper shock mounts. I am pretty happy with the shocks and though they seem a little skinny they seem to be holding up well and have even survived my worst crash in 5 years.
Here are some pics of the new set up with Maul Tech GT Thunder Shocks
