Are Stock Front LT500 Shocks Rebuildable?
« on: January 28, 2013, 09:27:16 am »
Am finally doing the camber and bump steer mods.  Took off the shocks and springs to clean them up a bit and check the seals. No oil is evident on the shafts but the action of the shocks seems like the oil is really thick.
It looks like they can be disassembled, has anyone done this?

they are rebuildable.  you just can't buy the orginal seals anymore.  have to modify the seal heads for new, different seals.

heres a set i did for a memeber on the old site, i can't remeber his name, might be on here i don't know.  they are stock 500 fronts with rezzies added to them.

Pretty slick.. Are those trx250r rear rezzies? I was just looking for a price and ability to rebuild the stockers.. Ie oil change, new seals, etc. Just to get me by till I can buy some aftermarkets.
Any word how they performed?  And are those different springs or just pc'd?

yes those are trx250r rezzies.  had to buy 2 rear shocks to steel the rezzies and lines from.  those are stock springs, sandblasted and painted.  don't know how they worked, i didn't get any complaints so i'd say they worked good.  :)  there was pics of it together with the shocks mounted but there on the old site.
