American star racing tie rods
« on: May 20, 2013, 10:53:43 am »
So I have this set of American star racing tie rods but in clueless on how to install them with the heim joints and all of the hardware that's on them I don't know what goes where. Also do I need to do the bump steer mod with these or because of all the adjustability in the heim joints and rods am I good to go as far as bump steer? Anyone with experience with these please chime in. Greatly appreciated!

Hey Buck, did you ever figure this out? I'm considering getting a set, but want to make sure they connect up well before I get some.  Thanks!

Just thread the end down till they go straight into your mounting points. Do 1 side at a time then set your toe by threading them in or out. Then just set the jam nuts when the toe is where you want it, not sure on the stock spec. With the camber mod it is different. I would say an 1/8 toe out in the front. If you toe the front in it will be very darty.
If brains were gasoline, you couldn't power a **** ant's go-cart 2 laps around a cheerio.
