The shocks are set up for stock length 12''. I just updated my to the works shocks that you see in the ad. Made the ride a lot better but if you had adjustable shocks im sure it would be even better.  Ball joints are the standard 14mm replacement ball joints you find on ebay for aftermarket a arms. I made a set for a friends bike and he loves them.
