Early to late axle swap?

Will a later 87+ 250 axle fit the earlier 85-86 bearing carrier with no issues?

It should, but you'll have to change the hubs out to 26 spline.
I believe the bearing surfaces and sprocket/brake disk measurements remain unaltered.
