Just got a 92 LT250R a few weeks back and Im wondering if there is a way to adjust the front suspension? I found a way to adjust the back to my liking as there was an O2 sensor. But the front is stiff as hell. Also I heard that Z400 wheels will fit my back tires? I want to get rid of the big bubble tires I have in the back and get some flatter/more treaded tires.
The factory shocks are junk. You'll have to get better ones if you want to adjust them.
Z400 wheels need a different wheel hub. Z400 are 4/110 bolt pattern and you have 5/130 from the factory. The Z400 rear wheel hubs do fit on the LT250R though. So get the hubs if you want to use 4/110 wheels.
OK thanks.
On the suspension... What are my options for the front (least work involved) and best bang for my buck?
What type of riding do you plan in doing
Also ltr 450 hubs fit and will widen the rear end if u want to and width
For serious mx and high adjustability IMO their is no cheap route. You can try to mount some new 450 shocks that u can sometime find for a low price but you might need to work with the mounts or custom arms. U trying to use factory arms?
Yeah. I am gonna try to stay with the factory arms. Are works shocks any good?
Works shocks are very good. I have a pair of adjustable ltr 450 shocks I'm asking $150 for. I also have some nice holeshot tires on 5 lug LT wheel I'd sell too.
And those shocks would fit my quad?
And those shocks would fit my quad?
Not without modifications. If you can get them to fit, your ball joint angle will be all wrong. Like PCS said, you would have to mess with your upper and/or lower shock mounts to use the longer shocks on stock A-arms.
So... In other words... There is no easy way to make my stock suspension better or fix it?
Not cheaply
My friend runs dual spring works steelies and the work well and for duning and desert trails but fit hard core mx I dint feel they are adequate
