bump steer gone bad, Y?
« on: July 05, 2014, 05:19:14 pm »
So today i did my camber shims and flipped my tie rod brackets and installed .2 washers under the inner tie rod ends and made sure i set my tires so they are a 1/4 inch in on each front. Before i adjusted my tie rods it seemed like i  had binding happening after i adjusted them it seemed better, i took it for a spin around my drive and i noticed my front break pad was on the ground so after further examination i noticed that some how my front outer hub dust seal /bering seemed smushed in allowing my front hub room to move a little outward in turn giving to much space between disk and inner break pad and allowing it to fall out . i jacked it up and noticed that my rubber bumpers were not able to touch steering stem stoppers ! I am not sure where this went wrong i thought that i had done everything correct i guess not??????????   ANY THOUGHT BEFORE I TORCH THIS THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a metal spacer that goes on the outer side of the hub. if you forget to install it the hub will float around and the brake pads will fall out

Made the mistake Kreidy is describing myself. It also trashed my wheel bearing seals so I replaced them as well.
