92 lt250r front a-arms, and shocks
« on: November 08, 2014, 01:45:49 am »
Hello all new to the site and owning a quad. I have tried to read as much as possible the last few days to find any info on a-arm swaps and shock swaps for my quad and have come up with this so far. honda 400ex shocks will fit on the front but have to grind the shocks a bit, the suzuki ltz400 rear shock will go on the rear and have to grind the bottom mount on the insides. So my biggest question is their any a-arms from any bikes that will mount up with only doing slight work like either having to shim some or grind some, and if so please help me to know what ones do, and what years, and do I have to switch the spindles ect also, or can I keep mine. Please any help I thought I seen someone said they put yfz450 a-arms but you have to have the hem joints at the mounting points and adjustable balljoints is this correct? I'm just looking for some easy cheapo upgrades to make it better than stock as I want to get this motor figured out first so all my extra funds are going to it as I would like to have it ready to play in the snow this winter.

I have seen people put 400ex a arms on with some shimming but I think spending the money to buy aftermarket a arms is the best bet. Getting the front end geometry is critical for a good ride

Upgrading to a high end shock really makes a huge difference for trail riding and some mild mx.

what year 400ex, I have looked all over the net and can't find anyone making a-arms for this quad. I have left two companys messages asking if they make them for my 92lt250r and they haven't even got back to me so I take it thats a no. I even tried that cheapo company on ebay fullflight and they haven't even got back to me. I am stuck so ready to try anything as I want my front to be wider as my rear is 2+2 each side and it just looks funny to me lol with the small front wide rear.

Ok I contacted fullflight at fullflightracing@aol.com and they said they do not make them anymore and wont even make me a set wtf. Also haven't heard back from burgard so take it they don't make them anymore. So I contacted this company that make the widening kits and they don't have none listed but say they might have something that will work for me and want $180 + shipping for the kit but when I asked what kit are they originally for they just keep saying the might work if not then they will work with me on them lol whats that mean if they don't fit we wont give you your money back but we'll tell you how to cut and drill them to make a sloppy fit???? I give up I'm just ready to buy some factory ones (since mine are all rusty and I don't trust them) put them back on and buy thoese wheel space kits or bolts for $20 for 8 of them or $100 for the durablue spacer's. Does the lt500r a-arms fit on my 92lt250r? would it make it wider? and if so what year do I need to get of the lt500r? I would love aftermarket a-arms but it seems nobody makes them anymore hell I even contacted avenger and they havent even got back to me. So please anyone with some for sale or that knows of any other ones that will fit from other bikes and what years PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
