No ones showing much love for these, come on has to have a few of these. My dad has a 87 230e he bought brand new still. Once the I get my 500 done in thinking about bringing her over to the shop and fixing it up for the old man for all the years he let me abuse that thing... Or maybe he didn't know until the first time I broke something on it.
First quad I ever owned was an 86 230 QuadSport at age 12
I have one. I will be starting a thread on it soon. I have toooo many projects. lol

I hear you on that, sometimes i wonder why I keep buying stuff, then I just buy more...
You took the word out of my mouth. ....But in my defense, Lately I only buy stuff under $200. so its really not that bad. lol
I still have a 85 230s I bought new for the wife. Fun bike to ride, but hard to start for her with that sidewise kicker. It hasn't been started in a couple years, but I can't part with it.
Get some pics of it and start a thread. I'm going to with mine soon hopefully. I've crazy busy here lately.
I just bought a lt230 about 2 weeks ago in really great shape. Growing up here in Michigan on Anchor Bay I got to see them all. I grew up on the older ones and still like them better than whats out now. I bought a new 1989 lt500 when I was 18 but was suppose to buy a lt230 or lt250 at that time and changed my mind when I got to the show room lol. My favorite list is the 1985? Yellow and Black Yamaha 250 TRI-Z the all red Honda trx-250r and yes Suzuki lt250r and the lt500r
I have an LT230E, which is the electric start/auto clutch version.
They're great fun in a non-sand environment, and if it had maybe 50% more power..it would probably be just perfect.
It's one of those quads that you don't need all of that aftermarket stuff to have fun with it.
Had a chance to compare mine to the LT230S, and there doesn't seem to be any advantage in having a manual/clutch/kickstarter...if anything the auto-clutch gives it a little more mechanical advantage.
On the shelf right now is an extended swingarm with stock LT250 axle and a marvin shaw shock...I just haven't installed it yet because I like the way it handles right now.
I might switch them out on a trial basis just to see if there's any merit to having a wider stance.
F the 230 wheres the 250s and 500s haha

They are in the 250 & 500 section. This is the section for 230's LOL just giving ya a hard time.
I had an 80's lt230... I believe it was E. But I think mine was a pull start. I just remember it had no suspension. When I jumped it a across grandpas driveway, the dang thug leaned on its right side in air, and I fell off and when we landed the right rear tire had my right leg pinned under it. I still had ahold of the right handle bar and didn't notice my grip was on the throttle with it floored. Long story short, my right inside knee was rubbed down past the nerves till there was no skin left. 3rd degree burns. Know what I learned? ........ Don't wear shorts while riding.
